Message Summary: Be ready for the end of your earthly life and the return of the Lord. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2, Paul writes to the Christians at the church in Thessalonica: “Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, ‘There is peace and security,’ then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So, then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.”. Make yourself ready and keep ready!
Today’s Affirmation: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Past Failures. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Grace. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
Scripture Reference (ESV): Matthew 10:37-39; 1 Corinthians 9:12-23; James 3:13-18; Psalms 74:1-23.

What About My Death?
Wednesday Mar 21, 2018

Message Summary: Most of us don’t like to think about and plan for death, especially our own. However, Paul in. Romans 6:23, made our life and death position very clear: “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.". As part of our preparations for eternity, we should take one time each year to evaluate and to reflect on our position for facing death and realizing eternal life by identifying those changes we must make in our lives and in our relationship with God. This preparation for our death will be a blessing for us and our families. Are we prepared to face our death? Will we have eternal life? What about those we leave behind – are we being good stewards? Also, what about our families; are they prepared for their earthly death and to receive eternal life? In Matthew 28:18, Jesus gave us His Great Commission for our life focus: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.". Have we followed Jesus’ Great Commission, for our own families, by making disciples of our family members?
Today’s Affirmation: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be anxious. (Philippians 4:6f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:14).
Scripture Reference (ESV): Romans 5:12-15; Romans 7:24-25; Matthew 28:18-20; Psalms 73:1-28.

Message Summary: As Christians, God sees us, positionally, through Jesus. Therefore, God sees us as being in Jesus. God does not see us with all our frailties and life messes -- He sees us in Jesus. Because we are in Jesus, God sees us as His sons and daughters. In our prayers, therefore, we pray in the Holy Spirit; and we come to the Father through the name of Jesus -- praying through the Son. In Jesus’ Great Commission to us in Matthew 28:19, Jesus both instructs us regarding how His followers are to relate to our Trinidadian Deity of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit while, at the same time, making clear His place, as The Son, in the Trinity: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit . . .".
Today’s Affirmation: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Compulsions. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Patience. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
Scripture Reference (ESV): Jude 1:20; Matthew 6:9-15; Ephesians 6:18; Psalms 72:1-20.

Followers of Jesus Are Called to Live Righteous Lives

This Sunday’s Sermon: You can listen to Archbishop Beach’s Current Sunday Sermon: While We Were Sinners, Jesus Died for Us, at our Website: www.AWordFromTheLord.org/listen/.
Message Summary: Followers of Jesus are called to live righteous lives, as we are instructed by the Psalmist in Psalms 37:39: “The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.". Also, Paul tells us in Romans 1:17: “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’”. A righteousness, that comes from being in communion with the Holy Spirit, is not like "white washed tombstone" -- pretty on the outside but dead on the inside. In Acts 1:8, Jesus tell us, as His followers, that: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.". In Matthew 5, Jesus tells His followers that they are different and blessed; and these blessings flow from living a righteous life in Him. Allow the Holy Spirit to create in you a clean and pure heart.
Today’s Affirmation: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Hatred. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Love. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
Scripture Reference (ESV): Matthew 5:1-48; Romans 1:17; Romans 2:13; Psalms 71:1-24.

Today’s Affirmation: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! (Luke 11:13).

Message Summary: Our country is NOT about “freedom from religion”. Sadly, because of our abandoning God’s Laws, all of us in this country are affected – Christians and non-Christians; atheists; and followers of other religious faiths. As Jesus says in Mathew 5:45: “. . . For He makes the sun rise on the evil and the good, and send the rain on the just and the unjust.”. What can we do? The first thing we can do is pray and to fast – pray and ask God to turn our country around. We do want God involved, and He is involved. In Daniel 4:24-25, God told King Nebuchadnezzar, through Daniel’s interpretation of the King’s dream, that God is always in control; and that He determines those who govern us: “this is the interpretation, O king: It is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king, that you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and you shall be wet with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.". God responds to our prayers.
Today’s Affirmation: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will seek God’s perspective on my situation. For I know that in all things God works together for good to those of us who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (From Romans 8:28).

In Many Cases, We Have Made the Publishing of the Ten Commandments Illegal!
Friday Mar 16, 2018

Website Link: www.AWordFromTheLord.org/
Message Summary: As a nation, we no longer teach or practice the Ten Commandments. We have made it illegal to post the Ten Commandments, God’s Law to us, on most of the walls of our courts and government schools. From a spiritual perspective, how can God bless a nation which mocks Him? Paul, in Galatians 6:6-7, cautions both us, as individuals, and nations regarding the mocking of God: “Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”. From a practical perspective, how can a society and a government function when their foundation has been removed? Our form of government was founded on the ethical base of the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments were in the thoughts of the people that created our country.
Today’s Affirmation: Today, Because I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Inconsistencies. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
Scripture Reference (ESV): Mathew 27:51-52; 2 Corinthians 4:7-15; Romans 4:16-17; Psalms 68:1-35.

The Choice of Our Life Preferences Effects Who We Are
Thursday Mar 15, 2018
Thursday Mar 15, 2018
Website Link: www.AWordFromTheLord.org/
Message Summary: We want to submit our life preferences to the Lord. By submitting our life preferences to the Lord, He can help us to understand the life path that our preferences will lead. Life preferences are not necessarily sins, but they can close doors on our life. In Matthew 10:37-39, Jesus provides a context from which we can assess life preference choices: “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.".
Today’s Affirmation: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
Scripture Reference (ESV): Matthew 10:37-39; 1 Corinthians 9:12-23; James 3:13-18; Psalms 67:1-17.
