Jesus Will Return to Greet Us – When We Die or Before We Die

Jesus Will Return to Greet Us – When We Die or Before We Die

August 31, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARYAs Christians and citizens of Heaven, we know that the Lord is coming back -- either to greet us when we die or before we die. For most of us, however, our vision of Heaven is clouded by looking backwards; therefore, the return of Jesus does not have any power in our life. Paul reinforces the return of the Lord of Heaven {Jesus} in Philippians 1:6: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.". When Jesus returns, we will put on our spiritual bodies, as promised. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:17: “From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Inconsistencies. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

Today, as a Follower of Jesus, You Are a Citizen of Heaven with Immediate Eternal Life

Today, as a Follower of Jesus, You Are a Citizen of Heaven with Immediate Eternal Life

August 30, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARYFirst of all, the moment you become a follower of Jesus, you have immediate Eternal Life; and you become a Citizen of Heaven.  Jesus tells us, in John 5:24, that His followers have Eternal Life and are Citizens of Heaven here on earth in their earthly lives: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.". As Christians and Citizens of Heaven, we know that the Lord is coming back -- either to greet us when we die or before we die. For most of us, however, our vision of Heaven is clouded by looking backwards; therefore, the return of Jesus does not have any power in our life. Paul reinforces the return of the Lord of Heaven in Philippians 1:6: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.". When He returns, we will put on our spiritual bodies, as promised. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:17: “From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONToday, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Through Jesus, His Son, God Has Given Us Eternal Life

Through Jesus, His Son, God Has Given Us Eternal Life

August 29, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus tells us in John 5:25-27: “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.”. If you believe in the name of the Son of God and know the Lord, you can be assured of forgiveness and salvation because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross, His resurrection, and God’s Grace. As the author of 1 John tells us in 1 John 5:10-12: “Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.". Jesus is the only Way to Eternal Life.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus ChristNothing compares with knowing Jesus. (Philippians 3:7f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Jesus’ Crucifixion Is a Sacrifice for You Beyond Reproach

Jesus’ Crucifixion Is a Sacrifice for You Beyond Reproach

August 28, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARY: It is not with perishable things like silver or gold that your life is redeemed by God, as the Apostle Peter tells us in 1 Peter 1:3b-6a“. . . he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice . . .". Your sinful life is redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus' sacrifice -- a Lamb without blemish or defect. Jesus fulfilled God's New Covenant, which like God’s First Covenant with Abraham, called for the blood sacrifice of a perfect sacrificial Lamb. This sacrifice, of the New Covenant, was fulfilled for us through Jesus' Crucifixion and Resurrection. Jesus, as described by Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11:24-26instituted the Passover meal for us through the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Through Communion, we remember Jesus’ substituting His death for all our sins as Jesus’ sacrificed His life for our lives – Jesus, our perfect sacrificial lamb, the Pascal Lamb, in His words of the first Holy Communion: “and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.".

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONToday, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my AnxietyRather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Peace. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

What Is the Cost of Your Sins Without God’s Grace?

What Is the Cost of Your Sins Without God’s Grace?

August 27, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARYPaul, in Romans 6:23, tells us: “For the wages of sin is {eternal} death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.". Eternal death is eternal separation from God for eternity. God demonstrates His love for us that while we are still sinners, He sacrificed His Son Jesus on the Cross. During the days leading up to Jesus’ death and Resurrection (i.e. Holy Week) He prayed, in John 17:1b-5, to God and His prayer tells us why God’s Grace and His sacrifice was worth so much to us – our Eternal Life“. . . he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, ‘Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.’". God made The Way for His divine justice to be satisfied through the Passover Lamb -- Jesus. Therefore, we have The Way from death to Eternal Life – Jesus.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONBecause of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by LonelinessRather, I will abide in the Lord’s Presence. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Jesus Is The Gate By Which We Must Enter the Kingdom of God

Jesus Is The Gate By Which We Must Enter the Kingdom of God

August 26, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus is The Door and The Gate by which we must enter the Kingdom of God. In John 10:9-10, Jesus tells us: “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief {Satan} comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." Also, Jesus said, in Matthew 7:13-14, that He was "the Narrow Gate", and whomever enters the Kingdom through Him will be saved and have Eternal Life: {You} “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.". This week, Holy Week, is about the events, of about two thousand years ago, that provided us all, by God’s Grace, with access to The Narrow Gate, which is Jesus. Through Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins and His Resurrection, He has given us eternal life if we choose to enter The Narrow Gate – this week is, truly, a Holy Week.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONI affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, JesusI AM FORGIVENIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).

The Bible Encourages You to Work Hard and Save

The Bible Encourages You to Work Hard and Save

August 25, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARY: In the Bible, having possessions is not condemned; and the Bible commends those that save for the future. In Proverbs 6:6, the propensity of the ant to “store up” in the summer for the winter is posited as behavior we should emulate: “Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.". The Bible encourages the followers of Jesus to work hard and to be thankful for what God provides while having joy, as we learn from Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.".

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONI affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the GospelI will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16).

God Has Blessed You. Are You a Blessing to Others?

God Has Blessed You. Are You a Blessing to Others?

August 24, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARYGod has blessed and healed us so that we might bless and bring God’s healing powers to others. God saved us so that we might be His ambassadors to others. God’s Message to Israel, in Leviticus 26:11-13, is the same message that He has for us, though Jesus, today -- “I am the LORD your God: “I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people. I am the LORD your God . . .”. There are people all around us that are in such pain and agony, and God has given us the answer; however, we are prone to keep God’s answer to ourselves. We keep God’s answer to ourselves by not speaking of our faith to others. Additionally, we keep God’s answer to ourselves, often, in a negative way by the way we live, act, and by the way we treat one another. Walk the walk and talk the talk, thereby, sharing God’s blessings and healing powers with others.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Evil Ways. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Goodness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

Are You Ready for the Day of the Lord, which Will Come Like a Thief in the Night?

Are You Ready for the Day of the Lord, which Will Come Like a Thief in the Night?

August 23, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARYBe ready for the end of your earthly life and the return of the Lord. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2, Paul writes to the Christians at the church in Thessalonica: “Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, ‘There is peace and security,’ then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So, then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.”. Are you ready? Are you sure in your Salvation? If not, make yourself ready and keep ready!

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONToday, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Your Earthly Death is a Fact; Are You Prepared?

Your Earthly Death is a Fact; Are You Prepared?

August 22, 2018

MESSAGE SUMMARY: Most of us don’t like to think about and plan for death, especially our own. However, Paul in. Romans 6:23, made our life and death position very clear: “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.". As part of our preparations for eternity, we should take one time each year to evaluate and to reflect on our position for facing death and realizing eternal life by identifying those changes we must make in our lives and in our relationship with God. This preparation for our death will be a blessing for us and our families. Are we prepared to face our death? Will we have eternal life? What about those we leave behind – are we being good stewards?  Also, what about our families; are they prepared for their earthly death and to receive eternal life? In Matthew 28:18, Jesus gave us His Great Commission for our life focus: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.". Have we followed Jesus’ Great Commission, for our own families, by making disciples of our family members?

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus ChristI will serve others. (Philippians 2:3f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
