Are You Advantaging God’s Gift to You – to Pray Through Jesus, His Son?
Tuesday Aug 21, 2018
Tuesday Aug 21, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: As Christians, God sees us, positionally, through Jesus. Therefore, God sees us as being in Jesus. God does not see us with all our frailties and life messes -- He sees us in Jesus. Because we are in Jesus, God sees us as His sons and daughters. In our prayers, therefore, we pray in the Holy Spirit; and we come to the Father through the name of Jesus -- praying through the Son. In Jesus’ Great Commission to us in Matthew 28:19, Jesus both instructs us regarding how His followers are to relate to our Trinidadian Deity of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit while, at the same time, making clear His place, as The Son, in the Trinity: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit . . .". Are you advantaging God’s great gift to you – you can pray through Jesus, His Son? Think about the magnitude of God’s gift and Pray through the Son.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Despair. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Joy. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

Monday Aug 20, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Followers of Jesus are called to live righteous lives, as we are instructed by the Psalmist in Psalms 37:39: “The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.". Also, Paul tells us in Romans 1:17: “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’”. A righteousness, that comes from being in communion with the Holy Spirit, is not like "white washed tombstone" -- pretty on the outside but dead on the inside. In Acts 1:8, Jesus tell us, as His followers, that: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.". In Matthew 5, Jesus tells His followers that they are different and blessed; and these blessings flow from living a righteous life in Him. Allow the Holy Spirit to create in you a clean and pure heart.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Jesus Great Commission to You: “Go, and Make Disciples” -- Not Decisions
Sunday Aug 19, 2018
Sunday Aug 19, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: God said go and make disciples not decisions. In Jesus’ last instructions to His Apostles, and to us, before His Ascension to Heaven from Earth is in Mathew 28:16-20, which is Jesus’ Great Commission: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”. A disciple is a student, a follower, a learner. Making a disciple is not about classes, making a disciple it about investing yourself in the life of another person – discipling is having a relationship with another person so that they see the life of Christ in you. Have you been discipled, or have you made a disciple? Not being “discipled” is the “great omission”.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1:12f).

Are You a Part of What God Is Doing in Our World?
Saturday Aug 18, 2018
Saturday Aug 18, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Can you tell what God is up to in our world, in our time, in our church, and in America? Are you a part of what God is doing in the world today, or you we just reacting to what God is doing – thereby, creating conflict and division? In Psalms 105:4-5, we are reminded of God’s power in the world if we do seek His presence in our lives: “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered.". On the other hand, Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 1:9, warns us of the implications for not including the presence of Jesus in our worldly considerations: “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.”. While the Lord is leading, and directing, it seems that we are wrapped up in our agenda and our way of doing things; therefore, we miss God’s presence; and we miss the Holy Spirit in our lives.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will trust in the Lord with all my heart. I will trust in with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I will seek to know Him, and He will make my pathways straight. (From Proverbs 3:5f).

We Can Know God, Personally
Thursday Aug 16, 2018
Thursday Aug 16, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: There is a difference in knowing about someone and really knowing them. The New Covenant, which permits us to know the Lord in a personal way and not just to now about the Lord, was fulfilled in Jesus the Christ. In Romans 8:26, Paul tells us that the pathway for knowing God personally is through our prayers; and the Holy Spirit is with us to help us with our prayers: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.". There is a great deal of difference in knowing about God through study and knowing God by developing a personal relationship with Him through the New Covenant, in Jesus and prayer. The Apostle John, in John 1:1-5, clearly identifies that Jesus is the “Word” (God) who is the Creator of the Universe: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.". Therefore, God’s Grace, through Jesus, has given us the opportunity to have a personal relationship with the Him, the Creator of the Universe. Is this opportunity for a personal relationship with God the cornerstone of your life? If not, why not?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Jesus Is The Gate
Wednesday Aug 15, 2018
Wednesday Aug 15, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: In John 14:6, Jesus says: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one come to the Father but through me.”. In Luke 13:23-25, Jesus is asked a pivotal question; and Jesus responded: “And someone said to him, ‘Lord, will those who are saved be few?’ And he said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’”". It’s not that Jesus doesn’t want all to be saved, it’s just that the “gate”, to our Salvation, is “narrow” and difficult to enter. We enter eternal life through Jesus and Jesus alone, and so many miss this fundamental tenant of our Christian faith; and they miss knowing Jesus – Jesus is the door, the narrow door. Neither Islam, nor Hinduism, nor just “my personal religion” is the door – Jesus is the only door.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, My life is about Christ. (Philippians 1:21). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

What Are the “Delights” {Focus} of Your Heart?
Tuesday Aug 14, 2018
Tuesday Aug 14, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: As the Psalmist tells us in Psalms 37:4: “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.". Delighting yourself in the Lord does not mean a new car if you so desire. It does mean that if we are delighting in our relationship with the Lord, it will be His desires that fill our heart with His will for us. As we are told in Deuteronomy 30:9-10: “The LORD your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your cattle and in the fruit of your ground. For the LORD will again take delight in prospering you, as he took delight in your fathers, when you obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, when you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.". The desires of our heart come to us when we delight ourselves in the Lord – not in the world; not in ourselves; or not in what is going on in our lives outside of our relationship with the Lord.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Self-centeredness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Love. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

Your Certainty of Earthly Death is 100%, But God’s Grace Gives You a Choice
Sunday Aug 12, 2018
Sunday Aug 12, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Your certainty of Earthly death is 100%. However, God’s Grace, through the death of Jesus and His resurrection, has given you a choice – Eternal life through your faith and acceptance of Jesus and your Lord and Savior, or not. After the Easter Resurrection, Jesus rose from the dead to live so that we might live and not die an eternal death. Our eternal life comes from our acceptance of and belief in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, but He will never force Himself on us -- "acceptance" must be from our own free will. As the Apostle Jon tells us in John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.", Also, in John 5:23-24, Jesus confirms our path to Eternal Life: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”. In fact, this quote from Jesus confirms that His followers, even though they are still living physically their earthly lives, are, already, alive in their Eternal Life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD’S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21).
