Your Personal Relationship with God Renders Everything Else in Your Life Insignificant; Have You Answered God's Call to Know Him?
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Your personal relationship with God, and knowing Him in your life, renders everything else in your life insignificant. Knowing God and having that personal relationship with Him, through your prayer life, is summarized in John 17:3: “And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.". Jesus’ interchange with the Apostle Peter, in Matthew 16:13-18, exemplifies the importance of God’s gift to you of your access to Him on a personal one-on-one basis: “he {Jesus}asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’”. How is your personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe, today?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Despair. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Joy. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

Irrespective of the Valid Demands on Your Life Today, You Must Maintain Constant Repentance while Making Jesus the Lord of Your Life
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
You must maintain constant repentance with the Lord. Every relationship in your life is a day-by-day journey; therefore, your relationship with the Lord is, also, a continuous journey. In 2 Corinthians 7:10, Paul succinctly describes the difference between “grief” and “sorrow” for your sinful actions and true repentance: “For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.". God can show you those things, in your life, that He wants you to do or not do. Some of us have the “pilot light lit” because we have asked Jesus to bring the Holy Spirit into our lives; however, the “furnace isn’t engaged”. The “fire of God” is not in your life because you are not willing to come to the Lord in penitence and to repent, and you do not make Jesus the Lord of all your Life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Mathew 3:8-11; Romans 2:4-5; Psalms 32:5; Psalms 120:1-7.

Today, Many Christians are Asking: “Where Is God In All of ‘This’?”; Well, Beginning with Prayer, Fasting and Asking God to Return to Us Is a Start
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus' concern is that when His followers practice the piety of giving, praying, and fasting that they will do things in the right way and with the right motives. To this end in Matthew 6:16-18, Jesus instructed the Apostles in fasting: “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.". Jesus wants our focus to be on following Him -- our lives are about impressing Him and not others in our personal relationship with God in prayer.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1:12f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Acts 14:23; Matthew 6:16-18; 2 Samuel 12:15-17; Psalms 28:1-8.

One Cannot Live On Another’s Faith for Salvation; All Must Hear and Believe for Themselves to Be Saved – You Can Help Family and Others By Sharing the Gospel
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Others to whom you minister, such as your children and friends, can hear about the Lord and the Gospel from you – for the first time or in timely reinforcement. However, your family and friends must believe for themselves to be saved. With regards to “others” not within your sphere of influence, they must hear for themselves and believe for themselves to be saved – no one can be a proxy for someone else’s Salvation faith. Many of us first believed because of what our parents taught us; but then we heard the Gospel for ourselves, and we believed. No one can live on another’s faith in Jesus for their Salvation. We must hear the Gospel for ourselves and come to the Lord in our own faith. As Paul tells us in Romans 10:16-17: “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?’. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." You will stand before the Lord alone in judgment – you will speak for yourself with only Jesus to speak for you. Share God’s good news with your family and friends so that they can hear and believe for themselves for Eternal Life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will trust in the Lord with all my heart. I will trust in the Lord with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I will seek to know Him, and He will make my pathways straight. (From Proverbs 3:5f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): 2 Timothy 1:5; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14; Matthew 7:24-27; Psalms 72b:11-20.

Upon Becoming a Follower of Jesus, Your Personal Relationship with God and Eternal Life and Begin Immediately - Even Before Your Earthly Death
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Eternal life is NOT having eternal death after our earthly death. Rather, Eternal Life means knowing God, eternally, beginning at the actual moment of our rebirth in Jesus. Our Eternal Life lasts without ceasing – eternally. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior now in our earthly life, our Eternal Life, begins now. Therefore, our Eternal Life lets us know God in an intimate personal relationship now; and our personal relationship with God continues, eternally, after our earthly death. By knowing God now, personally, in our earthly life, we have a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe! Jesus promised “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16b). Also, in John 6:40, Jesus promises: “this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”. What is eternal life? In John 17:2b-3, Jesus defines eternal life: “since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”. When you come into your belief in Jesus and confess your sins to God, then Jesus baptizes you with the Holy Spirit; and you begin your new life and service in His kingdom. When you receive the Spirit, your eternal life has begun even before your physical death.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Heartlessness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Kindness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 6:40; John 5:24; John 17:2b-3; Psalms 72a:1-10.

In Tough Times of Fear and Uncertainty, God Is Always with Followers of Jesus, and He Gives Us Strength; Therefore, Always Rejoice In the Lord!
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Some of us and some of our acquaintances are going through horrendous circumstances and, probably, well into the future. Therefore, we ask, given these circumstances, how can we rejoice in the Lord; and why should we rejoice and give praise and thanks? We rejoice in God because He is always with the followers of Jesus; and He gives us strength. Paul tells us, in 2 Corinthians 12:10, of the sufficiency of Jesus no mater our trials and problems: “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.". To fulfill God’s exhortation “to rejoice always”, you can rejoice “always” if you keep your eyes on Jesus. David tells us, in Psalm 30:4, to: “Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”. Paul instructs us for continuous thanksgiving in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.". Yes, even in a Covid-19 world, we can rejoice in the Lord, for He is always with the followers of Jesus!
.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19; Psalms 95:1-11; 2 Corinthians 11:23-30; Psalms 71b:13-24.

More Important This Day than Ever for You to Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk of God’s Word to Those Confused and Fearful of the World
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
In today’s “Social Distancing”, sharing God’s Word my seem difficult; but people are thirsting for hope and answers for their fear and uncertainty -- God’s Word has their answers. They can hear God’s Word when you speak up at every opportunity; but, more importantly, they can see Christ and God’s Word in you by the way you live and personally handle issues in this Coronavirus world. Jesus expects you to go and to make Disciples while sharing God’s Word. In normative times, God’s Word can best be shared through your personal relationships. However, today, your mission fields are everywhere! When you discuss the Gospel with those you know well, you are often inhibited and constrained. Paul tells you, in Romans 1:16, that you should never be ashamed to communicate the Gospel: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.". When you communicate stories of your life situations and experiences with the people you know and with whom you have relationships, they will ask you questions. From these conversational questions will come a natural discourse about your faith and relationship with Jesus in your life because you are a follower of Jesus. In Mark 5:19-20, Jesus was very explicit that we are to go to our “friends” and tell them of Jesus’ good news: “’Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.’ And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.". Jesus, in Luke 9:26, also, cautioned us about being ashamed or constrained in communicating His Word: “For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.". It is more important today than ever for you both talk the talk and walk the walk of God’s Word at every opportunity!
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will live as Jesus would. (Philippians 1:27). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Luke 11:5-8; Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 16:13-20; Psalms 71a:1-12.

From The Book of Common Prayer: “Christ Has Died; Christ Is Risen; Christ Will Come Again”; At His Judgement, Will Your Life Say: “My Lord and My God!”?
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Jesus claimed to be the unique, divine Son of God; therefore, Jesus is on an equal footing with God. Jesus said that He would one day judge the world. How you respond to Jesus, in your life, will determine how you are judged by Him. The Apostle John summarizes, in John 20:27-29, the interchange between Jesus and the Apostle Thomas when Thomas realizes who Jesus, the man that he had been following for years, is God: “Then he said to Thomas, ’Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe’ Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’”. You, as Follower of Jesus, have not seen Jesus or His wounds. Therefore, do you believe through your faith; and are you able, by your faith, to say: “My Lord and my God!”? If not, why not?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Self-Centeredness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Love. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): 2 Timothy 4:1-8; Matthew 12:36-37; 2 Thessalonians 1:5; Psalms 70:1-5.

In America’s Political Uncertainty Today, God’s Sovereignty, Power and Holiness Give Us Hope Because He Is Faithful to His Word
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
The verses below, from the Old Testament point to the fear, respect, and praise that God warrants and demands through His Sovereignty. Power and Holiness. On the other hand, as we see when the Apostle John quotes Jesus from Revelation 1:17-18, when Jesus, in all His power and Glory, reassures us of God’s Grace and His plan for working out the Salvation and Eternal Life for all those that have accepted Jesus as their Savior: “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, ‘Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.’”. As David’s praise tells us in Psalms 103:13: “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.”.
David models again and again, in Psalms, how we should praise God. For example, in Psalms 146, David says: "Put not your trust in Princes; Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, Oh my soul!". When we are wondering how to praise the Lord, we can read one of David’s Psalms to God like David’s praises to the Lord in Psalms 112:1-2: “Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.". Also, we learn in Proverbs 1:7, the “fear of the Lord” and “wisdom” are closely linked: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.".
We Have entered a period of political uncertainty in America, but we can draw great comfort from Daniel 4:17 when Daniel’s interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s, king of Babylon, dream in which Daniel and the king acknowledged that God controls the universe and human kingdoms and that he (Nebuchadnezzar) does not. Daniel proclaimed God’s Sovereignty over the affairs of nations, even over Babylon—the greatest nation in the world at that time: “The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, the decision by the word of the holy ones, to the end that the living {us of faith} may know that the Most High {God}rules the kingdom of men {secular governance} and gives it to whom he will and sets over it the lowliest of men.”. We know that God is Sovereign in this period which provides great assurance to those of faith.
Yes, you should fear, respect, and have faith in God’s Sovereignty, Power and Holiness; but, as a follower of Jesus, you should “fear not” at your time of judgment because God’s Grace has assured your Salvation and Eternal Life.
T
ODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Anger. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Forgiveness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

The Election and Covid Bring Uncertainty and Fear, but We Have Hope In God for “we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need"
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Think about the magnitude of your direct and personal access to God that your prayers give you if you will only pray. Before Jesus, ordinary people did not have direct access to God. Their communications to God were through an intermediary, a priest, and he would pray to God behind the Temple’s vail in the Throne Room of God. Therefore, the people did not have a direct personal relationship with God. In Old Testament times, people would come to the priests; and the priest would offer up a sacrifice on behalf of the people. The priests, and not the people, were communing and praying directly with God. Because Jesus created a New Covenant relationship with His followers, now your prayers are in direct communion with God, the Creator of the Universe. Everyone, who is in Christ, may have access to the Throne Room of God in the name of Jesus. What a privilege and gift this direct access to God is for those who are in Christ. The author of Hebrews, in Hebrews 4:16, tells the followers of Jesus that, because of the Gospel, you have direct access to God’s “throne of Grace” for your needs: “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD’S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Philippians 4:1-13; John 15:9-10; Revelation 4:1-2; Psalms 69c:25-36.
