As a Follower of Jesus, You Are Called to Live a Righteous Life; Are You?
Thursday Oct 18, 2018
Thursday Oct 18, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: You are called, as a Christian, to live a life that is deeply righteous and not shallow, superficial, or hypocritical. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:6: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.". Your righteousness, as a follower of Jesus, should flow from your heart and from being in communion with the Holy Spirit. You should allow the Holy Spirit to create a clean heart and a pure heart within you. The righteousness of a clean heart is the righteousness that Jesus wants of His followers, as the Psalmist tells us in Psalms 51:10-12: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

God Has Come Among Us to Have a Personal Relationship with You
Wednesday Oct 17, 2018
Wednesday Oct 17, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: God became flesh, and He dwelt among us. God became human in order to draw you into a personal relationship with Him. In John 1:14, the Apostle John identifies Jesus as the “Son of the Father”: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.". God alone can satisfy the meaning and purpose of our lives. God alone can satisfy our hunger to know life’s meaning. Most importantly, God alone can give us forgiveness of our sins as Paul tells us in Colossians 2:13-14: “And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.". Jesus life, miracles, death, and His resurrection are invitations to a life-long personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe, through the Holy Spirit.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will serve others. (Philippians 2:3f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Is Your Life Lived in the Presence of Jesus?
Tuesday Oct 16, 2018
Tuesday Oct 16, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Come people of God; let us walk in the light of the Lord. For those of us that know the Lord, this means that we live in the presence of Jesus in our lives. Living in the presence of Jesus means that you live in personal holiness; living in the light of Jesus. Many times, we are so tempted to walk in the darkness of doom and gloom; and when we go through something difficult in our lives, we walk in darkness without the presence of Jesus and His light for our life. The Apostle John, in 1 John 1:5-7, so clearly presents what it means to “walk in the presence and light of Jesus” in these times that bring fear and uncertainty into our lives: “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.". One day, the Lord will come in judgment; but for now, you can walk in the light and presence of Jesus.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Despair. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Joy. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

You Will Never Be More Like Jesus Than When You Are Serving Others
Monday Oct 15, 2018
Monday Oct 15, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Your best example of service is Jesus. To serve is Christ, as Jesus instructed us in Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”. You will never be more like Jesus than when you are serving others – the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. If Jesus came, lived and died on earth as a servant, why would you, as a follower of Jesus, not realize that you are expected to serve? If, as Paul tell us in Romans 8:28-29, we are being conformed into the image of Jesus, then we are being taught how to serve: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Sunday Oct 14, 2018
Sunday Oct 14, 2018
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1:12f).

Saturday Oct 13, 2018

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ I will trust in the Lord with all my heart. I will trust in with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I will seek to know Him, and He will make my pathways straight. (From Proverbs 3:5f).

All of Us Are Filled with Something; With What Are You Filled?
Friday Oct 12, 2018
Friday Oct 12, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: If Christianity is just a bunch of rules and laws for you (all of which can’t be kept!), then you really don’t know what Christianity is all about. Be filled with the Holy Spirit – all of us are filled with something. With what are you filled? The Apostle Peter, in 1 Peter 4:5-6, admonishes you to be faithful to the Gospel and to live in the Spirit like God: “but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.". Some people are filled with the world or the devil or alcohol or drugs or materialism or their jobs or just themselves. You need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. As you walk with the Holy Spirit, Paul instructs, in Ephesians 5:15-17, to make wise use of our limited time on earth and to seek God’s will through the Holy Spirit: “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.". Come Holy Spirit; fill us with your presence and power. Are you filled with the Holy Spirit? If not, why not?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Heartlessness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Kindness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
