Does Your Family and Do Your Friends and Colleagues See Jesus in You?
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: God has blessed and healed us so that we might bless and bring God’s healing powers to others. God saved us so that we might be His ambassadors to others. God’s Message to Israel, in Leviticus 26:11-13, is the same message that He has for us, though Jesus, today -- “I am the LORD your God”: “I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people. I am the LORD your God . . .”. There are people all around us that are in such pain and agony, and God has given us the answer; however, we are prone to keep God’s answer to ourselves. We keep God’s answer to ourselves by not speaking of our faith to others. Additionally, we keep God’s answer to ourselves, often, in a negative way by the way we live, act, and by the way we treat one another. Walk the walk and talk the talk, thereby, sharing God’s blessings and healing powers with others.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Will You Take Time to Disciple One Who Has Walked Away from God?
Wednesday Dec 11, 2019
Wednesday Dec 11, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Is there anything we can do for someone with a calloused heart or who has walked away from God because they weren’t discipled? Yes, we must start by praying for them – asking God to move in their lives; asking God to intervene in their life situations; asking God to break up the hardness of their heart. Also, for this person, we must build a better relationship of trust and caring love. In Mathew 18:12-13, Jesus presents God’s perspective regarding the pursuit of even one person that has walked away: “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." No matter the hardness of a person’s heart, who has walked away from God, they will respond to our initiatives based on love and trust. However, so many of us Christians are so focused on doing our religious or spiritual things and keeping our “busy” schedules that we don’t have time to love and care for others. Why?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will serve others. (Philippians 2:3f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

How Does Your Debt Influence Your Life?
Tuesday Dec 10, 2019
Tuesday Dec 10, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: We don’t realize how we can become enslaved to debt – it’s so easy today. In Romans 13:8, Paul tells us: “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.”. While debt will not terminate our Salvation, it can bring hurt and potential destruction to us and to our families. In Mathew 7:27-29, Jesus tells us: “And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”. Get out of debt, and keep your eyes upon Jesus.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Despair. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Joy. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Perspectives on Life & Death: Steve Jobs vs. Jesus (Holy Cross Anglican Cathedral; Loganville, GA)
Steve Jobs was a Billionaire, at his death; and he was the founder of Apple. Jesus is the Christ (Messiah) and, as God, the Creator of the Universe.
From his death-bed, Steve Jobs wrote his perspective on his life in comparison to his impending death. Earthly death is a fact which we all must face. On the other hand, Jesus gives us his perspective on human death, earthly life, and Eternal Life (John 11: 25– 26): “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.”.
In our message today, Archbishop Beach provides a summary of these two different perspectives on living our earthly lives while always considering that our earthly death is inevitable. However, for those of us that follow Jesus, earthly death is only the predecessor event for our Eternal Life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Who and What Is the Focus of Your Finances?
Friday Dec 06, 2019
Friday Dec 06, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: We are so focused on earning money and related activities that it is easy for money and finances to become our god, thereby, violating the Second Commandment. If Jesus is Lord over all, as we are told in Psalms 24:1: “The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.”, then everything is God’s. In James 5:1-3, the author of the Book of James provides insight into someone who does NOT make God the Lord of their finances: “Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.”. Therefore, let God Be Lord over your finances, which really are His finances.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Heartlessness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Kindness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

God Desires to Bring Healing to Your Life; Have You Asked Him?
Thursday Dec 05, 2019
Thursday Dec 05, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: From Isaiah 53:4-5: “Surely he has borne our grief and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes {i.e. wounds} we are healed.”. What Jesus did for us brings healing to the body as well. God is in the healing business, and He desires to bring healing to our lives. In Matthew 8:16-17, Jesus healed many at Peter’s house fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy: “That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.’”
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

What Has Been Sown in Your Heart; and By Whom?
Wednesday Dec 04, 2019
Wednesday Dec 04, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Certain men, whose condemnation was written about long ago, have secretly slipped in among us (i.e. into Christian institutions); they are Godless men who changed the Grace of our God into a license for immorality and denied Jesus as the Christ. In the Parables of Mathew 13:19, Jesus tells us: “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.”. Jesus’ “Parable of the Sower”, in Mathew 13:18-23, applies to us and offers us a challenge to live the Christian faith, or not? Before His Ascension, Jesus instructed His Apostles, and us, in His Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”. Are we going to follow Jesus and obey his Great Commission to “make disciples”, or not?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will live as Jesus would. (Philippians 1:27). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Have You Involved God in Your Life’s “Small Things”? If Not, Why Not?
Tuesday Dec 03, 2019
Tuesday Dec 03, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus illustrates, in the “Parable of the Mustard Seed", that big things come from small beginnings. The selection, by Jesus, of His initial twelve Apostles, led to the growth of Christianity from twelve followers to more than two billion Christians. So, when God gives you a vision or He puts on your heart to start a ministry or to visit the home bound; and you think the Spirit’s is so small or inconsequential, just remember small beginnings lead to significant outcomes through the Lord. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commissions and promises His support to His Apostles and to us; therefore, how can any call, from the Holy Spirit, be too inconsequential or unsupported for us to embrace: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” Pray, listen, and be patient for no interaction with the Holy Spirit is too small for you or for God; and no Spiritual outcomes are too big for you or for God. After all, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe!
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Self-centeredness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Love. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

DEVOTIONAL VIDEO: “Be Strong & Courageous”

DEVOTIONAL VIDEO
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Be Strong & Courageous (Commencement -- Reformed Episcopal Seminary; Oreland, PA)
We have been equipped, as God told Jeremiah in Jeremiah 29:11-12, for God’s purposes in our lives: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.". In Joshua 1:9, God commands us to be strong and courageous because He is with us: “Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.". When we obey God’s commands, He steps into lives with His support for us to achieve His commands.
Courage is acting and speaking even though you are afraid. If you follow God’s call and seek His will to live and act in His Word, there is no reason to be overcome by fear because “your God is with you wherever you go”. After God’s grace through Jesus, God is in us through His gift to us of the Holy Spirit. You get strong by exercising the “muscles” of your faith and commitment to God’s will and His word – often pushing your “commitment to God” beyond levels you thought possible. Spiritual strength comes from having God with you and in you.

Sunday Dec 01, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Do you struggle with your “Prayer Life”, even though you know it is the most important component of a life lived following Jesus? Abraham provides you with a model for a “Prayer Life” that works. Abraham was an awesome man, and he had things happen in his life that were both important for him and humankind down through the ages as a resultant of his “Prayer Life”. For the development of your own “Prayer Life”, you can learn from Abraham's “Prayer Life”. One of the first things Abraham did, when he went to a new location or was in a new situation, was to build an altar to the Lord and call on the Lord's name in prayer. In Genesis 12:8, Abraham’s focus on and the priority given to his “prayer Life” is described: “From there he {Abraham}moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD.". Prayer was a priority for Abraham to build a place for God in his life and for his personal relationship with God. A way you can follow Abraham's example is to find an altar, a church, or a quiet place in your life to worship and pray, and to call upon the Lord's name like Abraham.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD’S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Genesis 12:7-8; Genesis 13:3-18; Genesis 22:9-14; Psalms 79:1-13.
