God Will Call You to Serve Him; God’s Calls to His Service Are Never Too Small or Inconsequential
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
When God gives you a vision to start a ministry or to witness to co-workers or if God calls you to serve His Kingdom, God will walk with you through the Holy Spirit. When God calls you as a follower of Jesus, and He will call you, remember that God’s calls to His service are never too small or inconsequential. Therefore, you must remember Jesus’ Parable of the Mustard Seed in Mathew 13:31-32 – “. . . a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree . . .”. From this parable, we learn that God will take what He asks you to do and multiply it many times. You can be sure, like Paul tells us in Romans 8:28, that when God calls you in your life that He walks with you as you strive to meet His expectations: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel. I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Mathew 13:31-34; Romans 8:26-28; Galatians 5:22-24; Psalms 26:1-12.

To Live and Act Like Jesus, God Gave Followers of Jesus the Holy Spirit
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
The Holy Spirit is given to Christians so that God may work in you and through you, as Luke tells us in Acts 10:44: “While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.". God desires to work in you to make you more like Jesus. God manifests Himself, through the Holy Spirit, as Paul tells us in Romans 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.". The Holy Spirit was given to you, as a follower of Jesus, so that the way you live and act would be like Jesus.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Evil Ways. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Goodness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Acts 1:4-9; Acts 2:38; Romans 14:17-19; Psalms 82:1-8.

If You Follow Jesus, Is Jesus the Lord of Your Life? If So, You Have the Holy Spirit as Your “Counselor”
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
The question is not "When did you receive the Holy Spirit?" BUT "Have you received the Holy Spirit?". As Jesus told us in John 14:26-27: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.". Is the Holy Spirit Present in your life, and does the Holy Spirit have you? Have you surrendered your life and will to Jesus the Christ? Until you surrender to Jesus, the Holy Spirit cannot lead you. As soon as you put up any resistance to "surrendering", you quench the Holy Spirit in your life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 14:25-27; Acts 1:4-9; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:45; Romans 14:17-19; Psalms 24:1-10.

In Today’s Uncertainties, Carve Out a Time Each Day to Pray for America
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Today, we must all Pray for America – to carve out a time each day when we, each and every one of us, prays for America. In our prayers, we must confess our sins as individuals and collectively as a country. Additionally, we must pray for our President, Members of Congress, the Supreme Court, and our other leaders and those others in authority. Our Prayers for America should pray for the moral issues of today; blessings and protection for our leaders that are walking the walk of their Christian faith; and for a Spiritual Revival and Awakening in America. Only the intervention of God will change the downward direction of America, and we must ask through our prayers. God has intervened before, and He will do it again. America was built on prayer, as we learn from the writings of Benjamin Franklin, and upon the Christian faith of our founders.
Paul instructs us for our prayers in 1 Timothy 2:1-6: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.". We must make Praying for America and, personally, for its leaders a priority in our lives. If we are praying, then God will show us what to do.
Will You pray for America and take responsibility for the survival America and its blessings and freedoms for our country today and for our children and grandchildren in the future?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will serve others. (Philippians 2:3f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Psalms 33:12; 1 Timothy 2:1-6; James 1:4; Proverbs 3

America Will Not Survive as a Nation Unless the People of God Stand Up and Pray for America’s Spiritual Awakening
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Today, we must all Pray for America – to carve out a time each day when we, each and every one of us, prays for America. In our prayers, we must confess our sins as individuals and collectively as a country. Additionally, we must pray for our President, Members of Congress, the Supreme Court, and our other leaders and those others in authority and for a Spiritual Revival and Awakening in America.
We will not survive as a nation unless the people of God stand up before God and plead for the survival of America. Spiritual laws are like the laws of physics – they are absolute unless another force intervenes. Therefore, as America increases its violation of God’s laws at an increasing rate, we will face both the implicit and explicit consequences of violating God’s laws unless He intervenes – we must pray for God’s intervention! Today’s Issues and Problems Give You the Opportunity To Mirror Jesus in Your Actions, Even With a “Mask” and “Distancing”
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Paul, in Titus 3:4-8, powerfully lays out that we, as Christians, receive our Salvation through our faith and God’s Grace and not by our works. However, we are, also, given the opportunity to mirror Jesus’s good works in our actions and works: “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.".
What would happen, if the next time you are in the grocery store, you see a young family in need at the register and you pay their bill? Or what would happen if you paid the bill of a young family in line behind you at a fast food restaurant? Or what would happen if you got in your car and visited the shut-ins living in your community? Or what would happen if you went next door and actually met, got to know, and helped your neighbor? If we want to be real Christians, then we need to follow the “Great Commission” set forth by Jesus, for us, in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”". Our most powerful tool, that we can use to follow Jesus “Great Commission”, is for our life to let others see Jesus in our faith, actions, and works.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

From the Moment You Became a Follower of Jesus Having a “Right Relationship” with God, You Had Eternal Life
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Am I Going To Heaven? (Christ Anglican Church; Cashiers, NC)
If you follow Jesus in faith and confession, you can we be sure that you are in a “right relationship” with God because Jesus is your life’s Lord. Therefore, how can you, as a follower of Jesus in a “right relationship” with God, be sure that you are “saved”? As a follower of Jesus and based on Scripture, the answer is a “resounding YES, you can be sure that you are saved”! As followers of Jesus, God has given you assurances of your Salvation in three different ways: 1) the witness of Scripture through the documentation of the work of Christ on the cross from God’s Grace as a means of Eternal Life; 2) the witness of the Holy Spirit which, again, is God’s gift to those who follow Jesus in faith and confession; and 3) the witness of the Holy Sacraments of your faith (i.e. Holy Communion, Baptism) that assure us of God’s work in our lives.
Because of your personal relationship with God, the relationship that you have resulting from following Jesus, you can say to God: “you died for My sins”. Your personal relationship with God should provide assurance of your Salvation. In the Anglican Book of Common Prayer, you are given the Comfortable Words of Paul in 1 Timothy 1:15: “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.". Also, you have the assurance, again from Scripture, in 1 John 5:11-13: “And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.".
Yes, as a follower of Jesus, you have eternal Life!
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1:12f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): 1 John 5:11-13; Hebrews 11:1; Romans 8:38; John 3:16; John 5:24; Philippians 1:6; Colossians 1:3-5; Colossians 1:12-14; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 4:13; Romans 8:13-17; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:8; Psalms 70b:13-24.

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Husbands, other than your relationship with God, your wife must be your relationship priority – Your relationship priorities define what your whole life-focus is about. In Genesis 2:24, God established the framework for the relationship and life-focus between husband and wife: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”. Paul, in Ephesians 5:25, expresses God’s expectations for the husband in his relationship with his wife: “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”. Faithfulness to your wife involves the quality of your relationship with your wife, but “relationship quality”, also, involves all aspects of your “relationship” -- adultery is the ultimate act of “unfaithfulness”. In Mathew 19:4-7, Jesus repeats God’s instructions from Genesis 2:24; but Jesus makes clear, in Matthew 19:6b, that Marriage demands: “What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”. Many things can get in the way of your relationship with your wife; therefore, your wife must be your relationship focus.
Your work. the world, the country, your friends, and your family have so many issues and hurts for which Jesus and His Gospel are the answer; but we keep God’s good news a secret by our unwillingness to live a visible life walking the talk of the Gospel and sharing the Gospel. Do you have the faith and courage and are you willing to share the Gospel? If you do, then pray for God’s guidance to you for His will and role for you. However, a husband can let others see Jesus in him by having a visible and real high priority relationship with his wife.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will trust in the Lord with all my heart. I will trust in the Lord with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I will seek to know Him, and He will make my pathways straight. (From Proverbs 3:5f).

To Receive More Spiritual Revelations, We Must Meet God’s Expectations of Our Responsibility for His Material Gifts
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
As followers of Jesus, we want to go deeper in our personal relationship with God. However, God tells some of us that we must start being more responsible for the material things that He has provided before we can go deeper into spiritual revelations. Also, many of us, while seeking to know the Lord better, want to know His will in our lives and for the World. At the same time, we want to be filled with the Holy Spirit. In Mathew 6:19-21, Jesus is telling us that all that we have, which we tend to call our own, really comes from God. God has expectations for our good management of His resources in our personal relationship with Him: “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.". God tells us that we are to be good managers of His gifts. Very pointedly, God is telling us that if we can’t be responsible for the earthly treasures, which He has provided us, then how can we be responsible for His Spiritual treasures that He wants to provide us as we seek to deepen our personal relationship with Him?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Heartlessness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Kindness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Mathew 25:14-30; Luke 12:13-21; Romans 3:19-20; Psalms 21:1-13.

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Rev. John Wesley Said that Good Stewards of God’s Gifts to Us Make, Save and Give Away as Much Money as They Can
You are God’s stewards and His supervisor of all God’s talents and money which God has provided to you during your earthly lifetime. You fulfill your obligations to God by meeting your responsibilities for Stewardship, Fiduciary performance, and Accountability to Him. All that you call “your own” is from God. The author of Hebrews, in Hebrews 13:5-6, presents God’s expectations for your management of your finances on His behalf: “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you,’ So, we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’”. Also, John Wesley, an Anglican Priest and founder of the Methodist denomination, said in his Three Rules About Money: 1) Make as much money as you can – be industrious and diligent; 2) Save as much money as you can -- be no spendthrift and live frugally and prudently; and 3) Give away as much money as you can. That is Divine destination of money; that makes it an everlasting blessing. John Wesley’s “Rules” provide you with a pathway to fulfill God’s expectations for your Stewardship and Fiduciary responsibilities.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
