In Your Life’s Struggle Today, God Alone Can Satisfy Your Hunger to Know Your Life’s Meaning and Purpose

In Your Life’s Struggle Today, God Alone Can Satisfy Your Hunger to Know Your Life’s Meaning and Purpose

June 5, 2020

MESSAGE SUMMARY:

If you are a follower of Jesus, Jesus tells you in John 15:12-14 that you are His “friend: “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends.". God became flesh, and He dwelt among us. God became human to draw you into a personal relationship with Him. In John 1:14, the Apostle John identifies Jesus as the “Son of the Father”: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.". God alone can satisfy the meaning and purpose of your life. God alone can satisfy your hunger to know your life’s meaning. Most importantly, God alone can give you forgiveness of your sins as Paul tells us in Colossians 2:13-14: “And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.". Jesus life, miracles, death, and His resurrection are invitations to a life-long personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe. Our personal relationship with God is through His gift, to followers of Jesus, of the Holy Spirit.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONToday, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will seek God’s perspective on my situation. For I know that in all things God  works together for good to those of us who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (From Romans 8:28).

As a Follower of Jesus, He is Your Way, Your Truth, Your Life, and Your Path to God and Eternal Life

As a Follower of Jesus, He is Your Way, Your Truth, Your Life, and Your Path to God and Eternal Life

November 3, 2019

MESSAGE SUMMARY: Have you, in your life, become a follower of Jesus? If not, why not? The stories of the New Testament tell us that Jesus was no ordinary man. The Apostle John, in John 1:1-5, points out that Jesus, the Word, was the Creator of the Universe: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.". They tell us that Jesus had authority over nature, over creation, and over life itself. They tell us that Jesus was the life-giver that came to earth for us. In John 20:26-29, Jesus asked the Apostle Thomas a fundamental question that Jesus asks you – “Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me?’”: “Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.’ Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’”.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONI affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD’S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21).

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 1:1-18; Isaiah 7:2-14; Matthew 1:21-24; Psalms 67:1-7.

Your Personal Relationship with God Lets You Talk to Him as You Talk to Your Earthly Father

Your Personal Relationship with God Lets You Talk to Him as You Talk to Your Earthly Father

August 15, 2019

MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a follower of Jesus, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe; and you can talk to God like you talk to your father. Remember God loves you. Imagine climbing up into His lap and imagine Him wrapping His arms around you – He is God your loving father. As God tells you in 2 Samuel 7:14-15: “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.". You need to start talking to Him as the best dad there could ever be. Talk to Him about your life; your concerns; and your needs. You need to ask Him for His counsel, and you need to ask Him questions regarding His will for your life.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONToday, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Romans 1:7; Matthew 6:7-15; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Psalms 12:1-8.

You Can Have a Personal Relationship with God, the Earth’s Most Intimate Relationship; Do You?

You Can Have a Personal Relationship with God, the Earth’s Most Intimate Relationship; Do You?

August 14, 2019

MESSAGE SUMMARY: The idea of an intimate relationship is to truly know someone; and you are given the privilege of knowing God, the Creator of the Universe. You are given the privilege of being close to Him and to have a personal and dynamic relationship with the God of the Universe. Your relationship is made possible through Jesus the Christ.  Paul, in Romans 8:37-39, succinctly defines God’s uncompromising love for you through His personal relationship with you: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.". Jesus puts the Holy Spirit in your life so that you can commune and have personal fellowship with God -- the most intimate relationship on earth.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will live as Jesus would.  (Philippians 1:27). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Jesus said: “This is my body which is for you” – Contemplate How Awesome God’s Grace Is!

Jesus said: “This is my body which is for you” – Contemplate How Awesome God’s Grace Is!

August 11, 2019

MESSAGE SUMMARY: It is not with perishable things like silver or gold that your life is redeemed by God, as the Apostle Peter tells us in 1 Peter 1:3b-6a: “. . . he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice . . .". Your sinful life is redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus' sacrifice -- a Lamb without blemish or defect. Jesus fulfilled God's New Covenant, which like God’s First Covenant with Abraham, called for the blood sacrifice of a perfect sacrificial Lamb. This sacrifice, of the New Covenant, was fulfilled for us through Jesus' Crucifixion and Resurrection. Jesus, as described by Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11:24-26, instituted the Passover meal for us through the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Through Communion, we remember Jesus’ substituting His death for all our sins as Jesus’ sacrificed His life for our lives – Jesus, our perfect sacrificial lamb, the Pascal Lamb, in His words of the first Holy Communion: “and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.".
