As a Christian, Are You a Purveyor, to Others, of Grace, Mercy and Kindness?
Thursday Oct 04, 2018
Thursday Oct 04, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: A culture of grace, mercy, and kindness is an environment in which there is no griping or murmuring; no putting people down. Paul relates, in Galatians 5:22-26, and defines the outcomes or “Fruits of the Spirit” and how they relate to a “Culture of Grace”: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.". This culture of grace, mercy, and kindness gives people the benefit of the doubt; and it provides a visible demonstration of how we value other people while, also, providing an atmosphere that is filled with the fruit of the Spirit.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Past Failures. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Grace. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

What Would Happen If You Lived Your Life Like Jesus?
Friday Sep 28, 2018
Friday Sep 28, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Paul, in Titus 3:4-8, powerfully lays out that we, as Christians, receive our Salvation through our faith and God’s Grace; however, we are given the opportunity to mirror Jesus in our actions and works: “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.". What would happen, if the next time you are in the grocery store, you see a young family in need at the register and you pay their bill? Or, what would happen if you paid the bill of a young family in line behind you at a fast food restaurant? Or, what would happen if you got in your car and visited the shut-ins living in your community? Or, what would happen if you went next door and actually met, got to know, and helped your neighbor? If we want to be real Christians, then we need to follow the “Great Commission” set forth by Jesus, for us, in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”"
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Inconsistencies. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

God Is Interested in Your Heart
Wednesday Sep 19, 2018
Wednesday Sep 19, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: God is interested in our hearts; He wants us to have righteous hearts. God makes us new creations through our new hearts created by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives – God changes our thinking and our attitudes. In Romans 8:26-27, Paul describes the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in followers of Jesus resulting in a new person, with a new heart, in Jesus: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.". The salt and light of Christians comes from our righteousness – not just in deed and appearance but, also, in our inner person -- our heart.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, God is working His will in my life. (Philippians 2:13). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Jesus Great Commission to You: “Go, and Make Disciples” -- Not Decisions
Sunday Aug 19, 2018
Sunday Aug 19, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: God said go and make disciples not decisions. In Jesus’ last instructions to His Apostles, and to us, before His Ascension to Heaven from Earth is in Mathew 28:16-20, which is Jesus’ Great Commission: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”. A disciple is a student, a follower, a learner. Making a disciple is not about classes, making a disciple it about investing yourself in the life of another person – discipling is having a relationship with another person so that they see the life of Christ in you. Have you been discipled, or have you made a disciple? Not being “discipled” is the “great omission”.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1:12f).

Becoming God’s Treasure
Sunday Aug 05, 2018
Sunday Aug 05, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: God is making us into pearls of great value. However, some of us are upset about our life difficulties or issues in our relationships. We need to allow the Lord to use our life circumstances; and if we are obedient and submissive to Him, the Lord will turn our situations into a life of beauty. Alternatively, when we encounter these negative situations in our lives, we can become bitter. On the other hand, we can submit and obey the Lord, thereby, permitting the Lord to turn our lives and life situations into pearls of beauty and lives of great value; and, also, we will know more of the presence of Jesus in our lives. As Paul tells us in Philippians 1:21: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.". Remember, the Prophet Joel tells us, in Joel 2:13b, about the character of God: “he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! (Luke 11:13).

How Do You Use the 24 Hours God Has Given You in a Day?
Sunday Jul 29, 2018
Sunday Jul 29, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: In the twenty-four hours given to us by God in a day, we should allot time to spend with God as well as time to spend with family, friends, school, and work. First, as we plan our day, we have assurance in Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.". Additionally, we should allot time to serve others as well as time for exercise and rest. Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11-13 summarizes God’s precious gift of time to us: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven . . . He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also, that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.". God has given us these twenty-four hours; but if we don’t have enough clock in a day to get it all done, then we are doing some things we should not be doing. If we are in the will and purpose of God for our lives, then He will help us get done those things that He desires.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).

Where Does Self-Denial Fit in Your Life’s Focus?
Friday Jul 27, 2018
Friday Jul 27, 2018
MESSAGE SUMMARY: In a time in which we hear so much about self-help, self-image, and self-actualization, Jesus is saying self-denial is the way to life. Jesus tells us, in Matthew 16:24, that self-denial is a key element in following Him: “Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.’". Taking up one’s cross means to die to self-ambitions. When we die to our self-ambitious and put them on the cross, Jesus’ life moves through us: “Not my will but Thy will.”. By denying self, we become alive in Jesus; and His Spirit flows through us – we experience eternal life and abundant life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Evil Ways. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Goodness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
