MESSAGE SUMMARY:
If God has forgiven you, why do you have to confess your sins? Confession is for you so that you to forgive as the Christ forgives you. Your forgiving others means that you release others from the offense that you believe they have committed against you. Jesus set the “forgiveness standard” for you as Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:31-32: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.". However, your forgiveness is not conditioned on the offender coming and asking you for their forgiveness – if you are like Jesus, you have already forgiven the offender. If you don’t forgive like Jesus, the offense festers and turns into resentment; and these unhealthy feelings are happening in you and not in the perceived offender because you have not forgiven your perceived offender as instructed be Jesus – “forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you”.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel. I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Ephesians 4:31-32; Mathew 6:14-15; Psalms 130:3-4; Psalms 32:1-11.

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Be humble, gentle, and patient bearing with one another in love. Your “calling” by Jesus is to love one another; to lift each other up; and to praise and to encourage one another. How often, in the church, do we get our feathers ruffled and start “acting like a bunch of turkeys”? Too many of us “are not responding to God’s call”; but we “are doing our duty”. After all, isn’t just “doing our duty” what we have been taught? Paul succinctly defines our obligations as a follower of Jesus in Ephesians 4:31-32: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.". Our service to God is more than service or obligation (i.e. “duty”). You should respond to Jesus’ “call” to you by emulating Jesus in your life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be a complainer. (Philippians 2:14). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Mathew 6:14-15; Psalms 130:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Psalms 30:1-12.

How Does Your Wife Fit Within Your Relationship Priorities?
Saturday Feb 22, 2020
Saturday Feb 22, 2020
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Husbands, other than your relationship with God, your wife must be your relationship priority – Your relationship priorities define what your whole life-focus is about. In Genesis 2:24, God established the framework for the relationship and life-focus between husband and wife: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”. Paul, in Ephesians 5:25, expresses God’s expectations for the husband in his relationship with his wife: “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”. Faithfulness to your wife involves the quality of your relationship with your wife, but “relationship quality”, also, involves all aspects of your “relationship” -- adultery is the ultimate act of “unfaithfulness”. In Mathew 19:4-7, Jesus repeats God’s instructions from Genesis 2:24; but Jesus makes clear, in Matthew 19:6b, that Marriage demands: “What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”. Many things can get in the way of your relationship with your wife; therefore, your wife must be your relationship focus.
Your work. the world, the country, your friends, and your family have so many issues and hurts for which Jesus and His Gospel are the answer; but we keep God’s good news a secret by our unwillingness to live a visible life walking the talk of the Gospel and sharing the Gospel. Do you have the faith and courage and are you willing to share the Gospel? If you do, then pray for God’s guidance to you for His will and role for you. However, a husband can let others see Jesus in them by having a visible and real high priority relationship with their wife.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will seek God’s perspective on my situation. For I know that in all things God works together for good to those of us who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (From Romans 8:28).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Genesis 2:24-25; Mathew 19:4-7; Ephesians 5:25-33; Psalms 22a:1-16.

MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a follower of Jesus, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe; and you can talk to God like you talk with your father. Remember, God loves you. Imagine climbing up into His lap and imagine Him wrapping His arms around you – He is God your loving father. As God tells you in 2 Samuel 7:14-15: “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.". You need to start talking with God as the best dad there could ever be. Talk with Him about your life; your concerns; and your needs. You need to ask God for His counsel, and you need to ask Him questions regarding His will for your life.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Is There Someone in Your Life Whom You Have Not Forgiven? Why Not?
Saturday Dec 28, 2019
Saturday Dec 28, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: We modern-day Christians are bad about living in our bitterness. However, Jesus set both the example and His expectations for “forgiveness” from the cross in Luke 23:33-34: “And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.". We put on our Christian face; but, often, we have someone in our lives, whom when even their name is mentioned, we become hateful and bitter. Jesus modeled what we are to do; we are to forgive the person that elicits this kind of bitter response in our lives. We need to release this person and then get on with our lives. As Jesus said: “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will entrust to Him my future. I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. (From 2 Timothy 1:12)

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Sadly, too many of our hearts are filled with greed and envy; therefore, often, our treasure has become our “god”. God could care less about your money; God is concerned about your heart. God is concerned about the purity of your heart and if your treasure has been put in the right places. As Jesus tells you in Matthew 6:19-21: "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.". We gain further insight on the relative value of our Eternal Life vs. our earthly wealth in 1 Timothy 6:17-19: “As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.”. If your heart is in the right place, then your money will be in the right place.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, Nothing compares with knowing Jesus. (Philippians 3:7f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Matthew 6:19-21; Matthew 19:16-30; 1 Timothy 6:17-19; Psalms 74b:13-23.

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Feeding of the 5000 (St. Andrews Episcopal Church; Ft, Worth, TX)
No matter where we are or in what context of life’s involvement in which we find ourselves, we need to be willing to be broken vessels for use by God for His purposes. In Mark’s teaching, regarding the miraculous feeding of “The 5,000” (Mark 6:34-37a), we see that Jesus’ compassion for the people overroad His personal need to grieve for the death of John the Baptizer and to rest. Rather, Jesus began to, immediately, minister to the people: “When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things. And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, ‘This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late. Send them away to go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.’ But he answered them, ‘You give them something to eat.’”. Like Jesus and in order to receive what God knows that we require, we need to move our focus away from our personal desires and perceived needs onto the real needs of others. When we move our focus away from ourselves and to a “outward focus”, we become free to hear and to receive from God. After Jesus saw to the needs of “The 5000”, He went away, alone, to listen and pray to God (Mark 6:45): “And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray.”. As in Jesus’ feeding of “The 5,000”, God desires that we look to Him; to take what He has given us; and to give to those in need.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Loneliness. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Presence. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Mark 6:31; Mark 6:34; Mark 6:41; Mark 6:43; Psalms 73b:15-28.
