A Word From The Lord Ministry Continues to Serve the Lord by Providing Opportunities for Many People to Hear His Word
MESSAGE SUMMARY: In today’s video devotional, Archbishop Foley Beach our teacher and Chairman of the A Word From the Lord ministry, tells us that our “podcasting downloads” have now exceeded 250,000 since our podcasting started in 2018. Also, through all our platforms that communicate the Lord’s Word (e.g., broadcasting, podcasting, email), we now provide more than 170,000 contacts with the Lord’s Word each day.
However, our Vision and Values are consistent over the eighteen years since the ministry’s founding in 2003:
- We strive to be a part of fulfilling Jesus’ “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:19): “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them . . .”; and we
- Follow Paul’s vision in Romans 10:17 – “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”.
- We use media and technology (e.g., Radio, Internet, Apps, Social Media, Podcasting, TV), which God has given us, to provide A Word From The Lord to Believers (to strengthen their faith and discipleship) and to Non-Believers (to develop their faith).
- Our ministry message is Gospel-focused and Biblical Christianity, not just an Anglican perspective, and
- We pray that AWTL’s message stirs our listeners’ affection for Jesus and that it shapes and molds the listener to the image of the Son while opening their mind and heart to the Holy Spirit.
- Also, we hope our message will be supplemental and in no way replace the church that our listeners are plugged into or the pastor God has placed into their lives.
A Word From The Lord (AWFTL) is driven by the Holy Spirit and God’s will. We need your continuing prayers and financial support to provide increasing opportunities for people to have “contacts” with God’s Word. We hope that you will continue to “be a part of fulfilling Jesus’ ‘Great Commission’”.
A Word From The Lord is a 501 [c][3] not-for-profit ministry; and you can contribute, directly, to AWFTL using the secure facilities of the National Christian Foundation (NCF) using the link below or through the DONATE button on our Website (www.awftl.org ).
TODAY’S PRAYER: This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, help me to do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the spirit of Jesus. Amen.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will proclaim Him. (Philippians 1:15f)). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Romans 10:17; Matthew 28:18-20.

To Be a “Jesus Follower and then NOT Following Jesus “Great Commission” to “go and making disciples” Is Your “Great Omission”
MESSAGE SUMMARY: God said told all Jesus Followers to “go and make disciples” not to “make decisions”. In other words, we are to bring the Gospel to others with whom we have or with whom we develop a personal relationship. Therefore, we are to leave the “conversion” or the “decision” of others to become a Christian up to the Holy Spirit. Our job, as Jesus Followers, is to “go and make disciples”. In Jesus’ last instructions to His Apostles and to you, before His Ascension to Heaven from Earth, is in Mathew 28:16-20 -- Jesus’ Great Commission: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”. A disciple is a student, a follower, a learner. Making a disciple is not about classes. Making a disciple it about investing yourself in the life of another person – discipling is having a personal relationship with another person so that they see the life of Christ in you. Have you been discipled, or have you made a disciple? Not “going and making disciples” is your “great omission” as a Christian.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will proclaim Him. (Philippians 1:15f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Mathew 28:16-20; Mathew 9:36-38; Mathew 10:16-33; Psalms 115:1-18.

Followers of Jesus Must Meet Jesus’ Expectation of His “Great Commission” By Both “Going” and “Making Disciples”
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus, in Luke 15:4-7, tells us, through His Parable of The Lost Sheep, the importance to God of our discipleship: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.".
Immediately before His Ascension into Heaven, Jesus told the Apostles, in His Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, as we go into our communities and into all parts of the world, that we are to make disciples: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”. We must begin, as followers of Jesus, to meet His fundamental expectation for us by both going and making disciples!
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Despair. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Joy. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Jesus expects you to go and to make Disciples while sharing God’s Word through your personal relationships! Therefore, you should share the Word of the Lord with people that you know. However, when you discuss the Gospel with those you know well, you are often inhibited and constrained. Paul tells you, in Romans 1:16, that you should never be ashamed to communicate the Gospel: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.". When you communicate stories of your life situations and experiences with the people you know and with whom you have relationships, they will ask you questions. From these conversational questions will come a natural discourse about your faith and relationship with Jesus in your life because you are a follower of Jesus. In Mark 5:19-20, Jesus was very explicit that we are to go to our “friends” and tell them of Jesus’ good news: “’Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.’ And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.". Jesus, in Luke 9:26, also, cautioned us about being ashamed or constrained in communicating His Word: “For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will serve others. (Philippians 2:3f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

MESSAGE SUMMARY: Even though we are followers of Jesus, we live in a world of hurting people; but we have the answer to their pain. God has blessed us so that we might be a blessing to others, and He has healed us so that we might provide God's healing powers to others. He has saved us so that we might be His ambassadors. While we have the answer, we keep it to ourselves in the way we live and by not speaking about Jesus to others. Before Jesus Ascension, He instructed us, in Matthew 28:16-20, that we must “Go” and tell others about the answer, which the Gospel provides, by “making Disciples”: “Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”. Therefore, you must communicate the Answer of Jesus and the Gospel to others through both your “talk” and the way that you “walk” in your life. Walk the walk and talk the talk to share Jesus with others.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Hatred. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Love. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus, in Matthew 28:18-19, has called you along with all Christians to: 1) “make disciples” and 2) “Go”: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,’". Even though you may not be called to be a missionary or a minister, Jesus calls all His followers in this “Great Commission”. However, Jesus does not call you without providing you the tools or gifts, through the Holy Spirit, to be successful. Paul, in Ephesians 4:11-13, tells us about God’s focus and reasons for His gifts to us through the Holy Spirit: “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ . . .". Again Paul, in Romans 11:29, gives us further information about God’s fantastic gifts of the Holy Spirit that are the enablers for you as you answer God’s call – as a follower of Jesus, you are called and given gifts; but not all have answered His call: “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.". In summary, God, in His call to you, has given you the gifts of the Holy Spirit to perform His call to you.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Loneliness. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Presence. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Jesus Expects You, as a Christian, to Witness for Him and “Make Disciples”
Friday Apr 19, 2019
Friday Apr 19, 2019
Immediately before His Ascension into Heaven, Jesus told the Apostles, in His Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, ` as we go into our communities and into all parts of the world, that we are to make disciples: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. Jesus Instructed: “As You Go”- Are You “Going” So People See Jesus In You?
Tuesday Apr 16, 2019
Tuesday Apr 16, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Paul, in Titus 3:4-8, powerfully lays out that we, as Christians, receive our Salvation through our faith and God’s Grace; however, we are given the opportunity to mirror Jesus in our actions and works: “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.". What would happen, if the next time you are in the grocery store, you see a young family in need at the register and you pay their bill? Or, what would happen if you paid the bill of a young family in line behind you at a fast food restaurant? Or, what would happen if you got in your car and visited the shut-ins living in your community? Or, what would happen if you went next door and actually met, got to know, and helped your neighbor? If we want to be real Christians, then we need to follow the “Great Commission” set forth by Jesus, for us, in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”"
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Addictions. God Saved You so that You Can Be His Ambassador to Others
Friday Mar 15, 2019
Friday Mar 15, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: While blessing you so that you might be a blessing to other people; God has healed you so that you might bring God's healing powers to others. God has saved you so that you can be His ambassador to others. Jesus commissions you, as He commissioned His Apostles just before His Ascension, in Matthew 28;19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.". The Gospel is the answer; but, often, you keep this answer to yourself by not speaking and by the way that you live your life and communicate your faith. Walk the walk; talk the talk; and share Jesus with other people. Peter tells you, in 1 Peter 3:15, how you are to witness with the Gospel’s answer: “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Inconsistencies. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
