As Jesus Was Taking All Sin Through God’s Grace, Jesus Cried: “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”

MESSAGE SUMMARY:

When, on the cross, Jesus cried out: “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46, b), At the time of Jesus crucifixion and earthly death was the only time, in all eternity, that Jesus had been separated from the Father. Jesus had always known perfect fellowship with the Father; but when He took on all our sin, His fellowship with God was broken. God, the Father, had forsaken Jesus because God cannot have anything to do with sin. Paul, in Romans 5:15, summarizes Jesus’ sacrifice and the resulting gift of God’s Grace available to us from our faith: “But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.”. Again, Paul reminds us, in 2 Corinthians 5:21, of the Grace resulting from Jesus’ sacrifice: "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.".

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will live as Jesus would. (Philippians 1:27). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): 2 Corinthians 4:7-15; Romans 4:16-17; Romans 5:15-21; Psalms 88:1-18.

“God gave us {Follower of Jesus} eternal life, and this life is in his Son {Jesus}”; Jesus Is the Only Way to Eternal Life

July 25, 2020

MESSAGE SUMMARY:

God gave us eternal life, and this {Eternal} life is in his Son {Jesus}. Whoever has the Son has {Eternal} life.” (1 John 5:11). Jesus tells us, in John 5:25-27,that: “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.”. If you believe in the name of the Son of God {Jesus}and know the Lord, you can be assured of forgiveness and salvation because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross; His Resurrection; and God’s Grace. As the author of 1 John tells us in 1 John 5:10-12: “Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.". Jesus is the only Way to Your Eternal Life.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONI affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel. I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16).

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Romans 1:16-17; Matthew 26:28; John 5:25-27; Psalms 9a:1-10.

In Return for God’s Grace that Provides Forgiveness of Your Sins and Salvation, God Expects Your Faith and Belief in Jesus’ Deity

In Return for God’s Grace that Provides Forgiveness of Your Sins and Salvation, God Expects Your Faith and Belief in Jesus’ Deity

July 17, 2020

MESSAGE SUMMARY:

Jesus is the firstborn of all creation; and in Him, all the fullness of Deity {God}lives in bodily form. This position, of Jesus’ Deity, is quite different from the teachings of Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, the New Age, or the Universalist. These statements, from Paul to the Colossians in Colossians 1:15, solidifies Jesus’ Deity: He {Jesus} is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation." form the crux of Christianity. In Jesus, God fully dwells. Again, in Colossians 2:9-10, Paul reminds us of Jesus’ ultimate Deity: “For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.". God expects your faith and belief in Jesus’ Deity in return for God’s forgiveness that results from Jesus’ sacrificial Crucifixion, Resurrection, and God’s Grace.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Heartlessness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Kindness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV) Colossians 2:9-10; Proverbs 8:27; John 1:1-5; Psalms 3:1-8.

MESSAGE SUMMARY:

Am I Going To Heaven? (Christ Anglican Church; Cashiers, NC)

If you follow Jesus in faith and confession, you can we be sure that you are in a “right relationship” with God because Jesus is your life’s Lord. Therefore, how can you, as a follower of Jesus in a “right relationship” with God, be sure that you are “saved”? As a follower of Jesus and based on Scripture, the answer is a “resounding YES, you can be sure that you are saved”! As followers of Jesus, God has given you assurances of your Salvation in three different ways: 1) the witness of Scripture through the documentation of the work of Christ on the cross from God’s Grace as a means of Eternal Life; 2) the witness of the Holy Spirit which, again, is God’s gift to those who follow Jesus in faith and confession; and 3) the witness of the Holy Sacraments of your faith (i.e. Holy Communion, Baptism) that assure us of God’s work in our lives.

Because of your personal relationship with God, the relationship that you have resulting from following Jesus, you can say to God: “you died for My sins”. Your personal relationship with God should provide assurance of your Salvation. In the Anglican Book of Common Prayer, you are given the Comfortable Words of Paul in 1 Timothy 1:15: “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.". Also, you have the assurance, again from Scripture, in 1 John 5:11-13: “And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.".

Yes, as a follower of Jesus, you have eternal Life!

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONI affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD’S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21).

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV):  1 John 5:11-13; Hebrews 11:1; Romans 8:38; John 3:16; John 5:24; Philippians 1:6; Colossians 1:3-5; Colossians 1:12-14; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 4:13; Romans 8:13-17; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:8; Psalms 70b:13-24.

Justice Demands the Cost of Your Sins Is Your Eternal Death, but Jesus Paid the Cost of Your Sins for You

Justice Demands the Cost of Your Sins Is Your Eternal Death, but Jesus Paid the Cost of Your Sins for You

June 25, 2020

MESSAGE SUMMARY:

The purpose of Jesus’ death on the cross was to sacrifice Himself to provide you a sacrifice, God’s required blood sacrifice, for your sins which you could not do for yourself. In Romans 5:18-21, Paul succinctly explains Jesus’ unique role, that only Jesus could play, in our Justification and Salvation. Jesus’ role in your Salvation begins with God’s Grace: “Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.". Jesus’ blood made His death, which He experienced for you, provide restitution; make atonement; and pay the death penalty for your sins. Someone must pay for your sins – either you must pay, or Jesus did pay. If you pay for your sins, it means your eternal condemnation and alienation from God without your eternal life. If Jesus pays for your sins, it means personal forgiveness; a personal relationship with God during your earthly life; and your eternal life that brings an eternal relationship with God. Jesus death and Resurrection were for the forgiveness of your sins and all sins; for all people that chose God’s Grace through Jesus; and for all time.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONToday, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

When You Partake of the Holy Communion as Instituted by Jesus, Contemplate How Awesome God’s Grace Is!

When You Partake of the Holy Communion as Instituted by Jesus, Contemplate How Awesome God’s Grace Is!

February 2, 2020

MESSAGE SUMMARY:

Your sinful life is redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus' sacrifice -- a Lamb without blemish or defect. It is not with perishable things like silver or gold that your life is redeemed by God, as the Apostle Peter tells us in 1 Peter 1:3b-6a: “. . . he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice . . .". Jesus fulfilled God's New Covenant, which like God’s First Covenant with Abraham, called for the blood sacrifice of a perfect sacrificial Lamb. This sacrifice, of the New Covenant, was fulfilled for us through Jesus' Crucifixion and Resurrection. Jesus, as described by Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11:24-26, instituted the Passover meal for us through the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Through Communion, we remember Jesus’ substituting His death for all our sins as Jesus’ sacrificed His life for our lives – Jesus, our perfect sacrificial lamb, the Pascal Lamb, in His words of the first Holy Communion: “and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.".

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONI affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1:12f).

Are You a Sinner Who Has Reached Out to Your Savior, Jesus the Christ?

December 17, 2019

MESSAGE SUMMARY: We are all sinners, but we now have a Savior – Jesus. As Paul tells us, in 1 Timothy 1:15-16, that the Gospel provides Salvation for all followers of Jesus, including the worst of sinners -- Paul: “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.". Also, Paul, in 1 Timothy 2:3b-6, further points out that God wants all of us to be saved by His Grace through Jesus if we only, as sinners like Paul, reach out to bring Jesus into our lives: God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.”. It is only because of Jesus the Christ that we receive the healing that we need. “I am a sinner who now has a Savior – do you”?

His Promise of Forgiveness (Christ Cathedral, Kampala Uganda)

Jesus the Christ died on the cross for our sins. Through Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead and God’s Grace, sinners like us can have Eternal Life if we confess our sins and have faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We have the eternal life-changing message: Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins; His Resurrection that reaffirmed Jesus’ deity; and therefore, His power to provide us the means for our forgiveness and eternal life if we confess our sins and follow Jesus in the way we live our life.

After Jesus Resurrection, Jesus appeared to many people, including a group of more than five hundred, over a period of forty days. The primary messages of the Bible’s New Testament Epistles are Jesus’ death, Resurrection, and the power of the Resurrection.
