For Jesus Followers, God’s Grace, Through Jesus, Has Given the Means of Grace and the Hope of Glory
MESSAGE SUMMARY: When, on the cross, Jesus cried out: “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46,b), it was the only time, in all eternity that Jesus had been separated from God the Father. Jesus had always known perfect fellowship with the Father; but when He took on all our sin, His fellowship with God was broken. God, the Father, had forsaken Jesus because God cannot have anything to do with sin. Paul, in Romans 5:15, summarizes Jesus’ sacrifice and the resulting gift of His Grace available to us from our faith: “But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.”. Again, Paul reminds us, in 2 Corinthians 5:21, of the Grace resulting from Jesus’ sacrifice: "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.". At the time of His crucifixion, Jesus, who was sinless. Hence, Jesus took on all the sins of the world for eternity. Therefore, we are blessed with God’s Grace of Salvation and Eternal Life, as the author of Hebrews summarizes in Hebrews 4:15-16: “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.". Jesus, through God’s Grace, has given us the means of Grace and the Hope of our Glory.
TODAY’S PRAYER: Father, I can only bow to you before such unimaginable loss and suffering. I join with Spafford and pray to you: “Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.” In your Son’s name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 105). Zondervan. Kindle Edition.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Some Turn Away from God in Political and Heath Uncertainties at Just the Moment they Most Need Him
MESSAGE SUMMARY: The Lord wants to bring His Grace and His peace into our lives. Because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and God’s "New Covenant" Grace for us, God can make us whole again. Jesus can bring His peace and His joy into our lives. Why will some, who have separated themselves from the Lord, not seek Him and return to God? Jesus tells us that if we return to Him that He will return to us – no matter where we are. Also, the Lord tells us in Isaiah 44:22: “I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.".
TODAY’S PRAYER: Father, I confess that when difficulties and trials come into my life, large or small, I mostly grumble and complain. I realize the trials James talks about are not necessarily “walls,” but they are difficult to bear, nonetheless. Fill me with such a vision of a transformed life, O God, that I might actually consider it “pure joy” when you bring trials my way. I believe, Lord. Help my unbelief. In Jesus’ name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 94). Zondervan. Kindle Edition.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Jesus died for you and your sinful nature. It is only through the death and Resurrection of Jesus that you are OFFERED the forgiveness of your sins and an inner healing in your life. In John 10:27-28, Jesus reiterates His commitment to those who commit their lives to Him and are His followers: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.". Some Christians mess up because Christians, too, are sinners. However, Jesus gave you a pathway out from the burden of your sins that leads to your Eternal Life. In Matthew 26:27-28, Jesus, again, reaffirmed His commitment to His followers through the Holy Eucharist: “And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.’".
Many non-Christians profess that the reason they choose not to believe and follow Jesus is that they “only see people in churches and those professing to be ‘Christians’ as ‘hypocrites’”. We all have been OFFERED the forgiveness of our sins by God’s Grace, through Jesus, through our faith in Jesus and our confession of sins. However, those refusing to follow Jesus, for whatever reason, have made the personal choice not to accept God’s OFFER of Salvation and Eternal Life. Since we are all sinners, what better place to find sinners than in a church where “Christian sinners” are attempting to live a new life by following Jesus and His Gospel of faith and Salvation. Yes, churches do have “hypocrites” in its total group of sinners. However, unlike those who refuse to follow Jesus because they see Jesus followers as “hypocrites”, “Christian hypocrites”, like other sinners, have a way out through their faith, confessions, and a commitment to trying to live a sinless life. Do you have an excuse not to follow Jesus? Have you found a way out without following Jesus?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Evil Ways. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Goodness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

MESSAGE SUMMARY:
He {Jesus} desires to bring healing into your life. From Isaiah 53:4-5: “Surely he has borne our grief and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes {i.e. wounds} we are healed.”. What Jesus did for us brings healing to the body as well. God is in the healing business, and In Matthew 8:16-17, Jesus healed many at Peter’s house fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy: “That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.’”. Also Jesus commissioned the Apostles, in Matthew 10:8, to minister to and heal both the spiritual and physical needs of those that were seeking the Kingdom of God: “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.”.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel. I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Isaiah 53:4-6; Matthew 8:14-17; Matthew 10:5-8; Psalms 4:1-8.

MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus is the firstborn of all creation; and in Him, all the fullness of Deity {God}lives in bodily form. This position, of Jesus’ Deity, is quite different from the teachings of Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, the New Age, or the Universalist. These statements, from Paul to the Colossians in Colossians 1:15, solidifies Jesus’ Deity: “He {Jesus} is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation." form the crux of Christianity. In Jesus, God fully dwells. Again, in Colossians 2:9-10, Paul reminds us of Jesus’ ultimate Deity: “For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.". God expects your faith and belief in Jesus’ Deity in return for God’s forgiveness that results from Jesus’ sacrificial Crucifixion, Resurrection, and God’s Grace.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Procrastination.
