Your “Prayer Life” Is Fundamental to Following Jesus; You Need Find a Place for Prayer and Call, Continuously, on the Lord to Deal with Life Today
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Do you struggle with your “Prayer Life”, even though you know it is the most important component of a life lived following Jesus? Abraham provides you with a model for a “Prayer Life” that works. Abraham was an awesome man, and he had things happen in his life that were both important for him and for all of humankind down through the ages that resulted from his “Prayer Life”. For the development of your own “Prayer Life”, you can learn from Abraham's “Prayer Life”. One of the first things Abraham did, when he went to a new location or was in a new situation, was to build an altar to the Lord and call on the Lord's name in prayer. In Genesis 12:8, Abraham’s focus on and the priority given to his “prayer Life” is described: “From there he {Abraham}moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD.". Prayer was a priority for Abraham to build a place for God in his life and for his personal relationship with God. A way you can follow Abraham's example is to find an altar, a church, or a quiet place in your life to worship and pray, and to call upon the Lord's name like Abraham.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! (Luke 11:13).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Genesis 12:7-8; Genesis 13:3-18; Genesis 22:9-14; Psalms 79:1-13.

In Today’s Suffering and Loss; Economic and Political Uncertainty; and Family Crises, We Know God Is With Us and He Will Never Leave Us
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
By accepting Jesus, you can be born of the Holy Spirit and have your sins forgiven by His sacrificial death on the cross. Paul explains, in Philippians 3:9b-12, that Jesus “has made me His own”: “but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Straining Toward the Goal. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.”. Amidst suffering and loss; economic uncertainty; and family crises, you can still celebrate and rejoice because you know that God has given you life and life eternal. We know that God is with us and He will never leave us.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will seek God’s perspective on my situation. For I know that in all things God works together for good to those of us who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (From Romans 8:28).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Philippians 3:7-12; John 5:24; Matthew 28:19-20; Psalms 78f:61-72.

If You Are a Follower of Jesus, then Sooner or Later God Will Intervene in Your Life Through the Holy Spirit – “do not be anxious”
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Where is God’s involvement in your life? God’s “life interventions”, in your life, can provide either a success or a setback. For example, we lose a job; or we get a job. God can turn our world upside down. It is not that we have done anything wrong; it is the Holy Spirit working out God’s purpose in your life. We need to hear what the Angels said in Mathew 1:20: “an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.’”; and we need to hear what Jesus said in Mathew 6:34: “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”. If we follow the lead of the Holy Spirit in all aspects and seasons of our lives, we can see the birthing of another miracle in our lives.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Inconsistencies. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 20:19-25; Luke 24:46-49; John 1:12; Psalms 78e:49-60.

As a Follower of Jesus and in Our Times of Uncertainty, Will You Pray for America’s People Through Your Personal Relationship With God?
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Many people and situations need your prayers today. Will you come before God with your prayers, and for whom will you pray? We can come before God on behalf ourselves and others -- intercessory prayer. You are given the privilege of following Moses example when he prayed to God on behalf of his people in Psalms 102:1-2: “Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!". Because of what Jesus has done for us, we can exercise this privilege of praying directly to God, the Creator of the Universe. You come before God by talking to Him with your prayers and in a personal relationship with Him. Do you pray? Will you pray? For whom and what do you pray? As a follower of Jesus, God is waiting for your prayers in your personal relationship with Him.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Romans 1:10-12; James 5:13-18; Exodus 3:1-15; Psalms 130:1-8.

As A Follower of Jesus “you should not be anxious”; While for Others, Today’s Uncertainty and Strife Bring Fear and Anxiety
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Put a name on the cause of your anxiety and offer it to the Lord in prayer. Anxiety is never a helpful lens though which to view and focus your life. As Jesus tells you, in Luke 12:22,31, that you should not be anxious and to seek first the Kingdom of God: “And he said to his disciples, ‘Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on . . . Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you . . .’”. Also, Paul tells us, in Philippians 4:14, that: “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. As a follower of Jesus today, why are you anxious? Remember, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I press on toward His goal for me . (Philippians 3:12f)). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Luke 12:22-34; Matthew 6:31; Isaiah 35:4; Philippians 4:4-9; Psalms 78c:25-36.

Your Life Paths Today Are Different, Threatening, and Unstable which Can Lead to Sin that Puts a Barrier Between You and God
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Every time you lie or cheat or lust or get stoned, you put a barrier between yourself and God because God is Holy. God’s Holiness prevents Him from communing with sinners. The author of 1 John tells us in 1 John 3:8: “Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.". God brought Jesus, who was both God and man, to live on earth. Therefore, Jesus blood sacrifice on the cross permitted Him to take on your sins. By His sacrifice, Jesus became your doorway and path to Salvation from your sins and your Eternal Life accompanied with a personal relationship with God: (1 John 1:9-10): “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Anxiety. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Peace. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 17:2-3; Philippians 3:7-10; Matthew 16:13-20; Psalms 78b:13-24.

Current Times Increase Our Uncertainties and Fears, but Remember “There is no fear in love {Agape, Self-Sacrificing Love}, but perfect love casts out fear”
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
We are made in the image of God; therefore, we are supposed to be perfect mirrors of God's Agape Love (i.e. self-sacrificing love). In 1 John 4:16-17 (The New Testament book of 1 John is believed to have been written by the Apostle John, author of the “Gospel of John”.), John tells us about God’s Love: “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world." Sin is our failure to act as our God of Agape Love acts -- the opposite of Agape Love is our self-love. Also, in 1 John 4:18-19, John presents us with the fruits of Agape Love, within the context of God’s model for Agape Love: “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.".
Recently, TV news has had reasons to show our National Cemeteries which, along with our consideration of Veterans Day this past week, reminds us of Jesus’ Agape Love. In John 15:12-14a, Jesus told of the actions that represent the self-sacrificial Agape Love taken by many of those soldiers interred in these cemeteries: “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends . . .”.
Today, let us all remember those with God’s Agape Love that sacrificed so much for us by giving up their lives.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Loneliness. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Presence. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

SPECIAL DEVOTIONAL VIDEO
In these Difficult Times, Take Heart! Christianity Is On the Move to All Nations: “you will be my witnesses . . . to the end of the earth”
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Many of our church buildings are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and we are learning to live with increasing uncertainty. Therefore, we pray that this devotional video, of the Nicaean Creed being spoken by Anglicans from around the World and global Anglicans meeting at the Jerusalem Temple Wall, is a helpful encouragement to you in these difficult times.
From this video, we see that Christianity is on the move to all nations and “to the end of the earth”. Please join A Word From The Lord as we follow Jesus’ Great Commission of “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations . . .” and Jesus’ instructions to His Disciples and to us at His Ascension: “. . . and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”.
As Jesus told His Disciples, in Acts 1:8-9a: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up . . .”.
Also, we are promised again in Acts 2:21: "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.".
Nicaean Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, visible and invisible.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen
You can visit our Website at awftl.org or awordfromthelord.org, and we pray that you experience A Word From The Lord.
NOTE: The first segment of included video is the Nicene Creed being recited by many members of the Gafcon Anglican family from around the world, beginning with Archbishop Foley Beach. Additionally, the video’s second segment is a gathering of Global Anglicans at the Jerusalem Temple Wall.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Acts 1:8-9; Acts 2:17; Acts 2:21.

God’s Grace, which Gives Followers of Jesus their Salvation and Eternal Life, Is Based Upon “Love” - “love thy neighbor as thy self”
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Jesus turned the prior teachings of the Law on their heels by commanding that personal relationships be based on “Love” not “Law and Justice”. Prior to the New Covenant of Jesus, the Christ, the Jewish Law included "an eye for an eye . . .". Jesus, in Matthew 5:38-39, provides the cornerstone of His Greatest Commandment – “love thy neighbor as thy self” when He tells us: “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.”. The Old Testament Law was for the Judges to help the courts punish people in an appropriate and consistent way. God’s Grace provided us with the means, if we so choose, for our forgiveness of our sins and our Eternal Life and Salvation. Our eternal death was the “Law and Justice” outcome of our sins before God’s Grace and Jesus; and God’s Grace sets the model for us to live a life of “Love” – “Love” God’s way.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel. I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Matthew 5:38-42; Hebrews 9:15; 1 John 4:19; Psalms 77b:11-20.

Are You So Focused on the Coming “New Governance” and the “New Normal” that You Are Deaf to God’s Call: “Who Will Go for Us?”?
MESSAGE SUMMARY:
Do you, like many Christians, see little, spiritually, going on in your life? As a follower of Jesus, God calls you just as He called the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 6:8: “And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’”. Therefore, as a follower of Jesus, you should be asking the question: “Am I ready for something spiritual to happen in my life, and am I dressed and ready for His service?”. Are you ready to say: “Lord, here am I; send me.”? The call of the Holy Spirit to you may be diverse such as: working on planning and implementing the “new normal” in your church as Corporate Worship is redefined in the Covit-19 world; becoming a missionary in a third world country; being a Christian business leader; or taking a stand for Jesus that is not politically correct. Can you be as ready as Isaiah when he said to God’s call, in Isaiah 6:8: “Lord, here am I; send me.”? If you are not ready to be sent, why not?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Evil Ways. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Goodness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Romans 8:12-17; Acts 2:1-4; Genesis 46:2-4; Psalms 76:1-12.
