Since You Can Talk {Pray} To the Universe’s Creator, Do You Talk {Pray} To Him?
Tuesday Feb 05, 2019
Tuesday Feb 05, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Will you come before God with your prayers, and for whom will you pray? We can come before God on behalf ourselves and others -- intercessory prayer. You and I are given the privilege of following Moses example when he prayed to God on behalf of his people in Psalms 102:1-2: “Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!". Because of what Jesus has done for us, we can exercise this privilege of praying directly to God, the Creator of the Universe. You come before God talking to Him with your prayers and in a personal relationship with Him. For whom and what do you pray?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Despair. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Joy. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).

Like Jesus, You Need to Spend Time in Daily Prayer
Wednesday Jan 23, 2019
Wednesday Jan 23, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus said, in Mark 2:27-28, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”. Therefore, practice a weekly Sabbath – worship and rest. This practice of the Sabbath is to build back into our lives a time alone with God each day. In Mark 1:35, Mark tells us about Jesus: “And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there He prayed.". If Jesus needed to spend time in prayer, doesn’t it make sense that we need to spend time in daily prayer as well?
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will rejoice in Him. (Philippians 4:4). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

You Can Pray to and Converse with God Anytime and Anywhere! Do You?
Wednesday Jan 16, 2019
Wednesday Jan 16, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Before Jesus, ordinary people did not have access to the Throne Room of God and God in any kind of direct, personal relationship with God. In Old Testament times, people would come to the priests; and the priest would present their offering. The priest would offer up a sacrifice on behalf of the people – the priests, and not the people, were communing directly with God. However, after Jesus we, as followers of Jesus, can commune directly with God, the Creator of the Universe, through our prayers. Everyone, who is in Christ, may have access to the Throne Room of God in the name of Jesus – what a privilege this direct access to God is for those who are in Christ. The author of Hebrews, in Hebrews 4:16, tells the followers of Jesus, because of the Gospel, that we have direct access to God’s “throne of Grace”: “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.". Think about the magnitude of this direct and personal access to God that our prayers give us, through Jesus, if we will only pray.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, Nothing compares with knowing Jesus. (Philippians 3:7f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Just Pray with Your Heart in Conversation with God, the Creator of the Universe
Wednesday Jan 09, 2019
Wednesday Jan 09, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Prayer is your conduit for communion with God, in His Throne Room, to invite His help to your situations. The best way to learn how to have this communion with God is to just do it, using no magic words, although the words of Scripture are powerful and work strongly. Just pray with your heart in conversation with God. Jonah, in Jonah 2:1-2, models for us that no matter how deep the situational hole, into which we have dug for ourselves, we can call on God, the Creator of the Universe, for our help: “Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the belly of the fish, saying, “I called out to the LORD, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, God is working His will in my life. (Philippians 2:13). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Is Prayer THE Fundamental Part of Your Life? If Not, Why Not?
Wednesday Jan 02, 2019
Wednesday Jan 02, 2019
MESSAGE SUMMARY: Your prayers can impact your family, your community and your nation if you will pray to God and plead on behalf of yourself and the people. We live in a time when we need for God to intervene., as Jesus tells us in John 14:13-14: “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.". Hosea’s words, in Hosea 14:1-5, ring even more true for us today as we navigate the uncertainties arising in our lives and in our country: “Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take with your words and return to the LORD; say to him, ‘Take away all iniquity; accept what is good, and we will pay with bulls the vows of our lips. Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses; and we will say no more, ‘Our God,’ to the work of our hands. In you the orphan finds mercy.’ I will heal their apostasy; I will love them freely, for my anger has turned from them. I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily; he shall take root like the trees of Lebanon.". Our prayers can make a difference; and, hopefully, our prayers will stay the hand of destruction that is coming our way because we have ignored God and left Him aside and told Him we do not want Him in our lives or the life of our country. Pray as Paul advised us in Romans 12:12: “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.". Pray; you can have an impact with your prayers on your life and the life of your country!
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, God isn’t finished with me yet. (Philippians 1:6). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14).

Jesus Went by Himself to Pray
Monday May 28, 2018
Monday May 28, 2018
Message Summary: Immediately, Jesus made His Disciples get in a boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side while Jesus dismissed the crowd. After Jesus dismissed the crowd, He went up on a mountainside, by Himself, to pray. He was alone with His Father. In Mark 1:35, Jesus prayer life is presented: “And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there He prayed.”. If there is one Christian discipline that is neglected by Christians of today, it is the practice of getting alone with God and having a quiet time to pray -- not you and your computer; not you and a friend; but only you and God alone in your prayer. We can learn a great deal from King Hezekiah, in Isaiah 37:15-17a about his personal relationship with God, through personal prayer, as he is faced with a powerful invasion of Israel: “And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD: ‘O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. Incline your ear, O LORD, and hear.’”.
Today’s Affirmation: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

Praying Through the Son

Message Summary: As Christians, God sees us, positionally, through Jesus. Therefore, God sees us as being in Jesus. God does not see us with all our frailties and life messes -- He sees us in Jesus. Because we are in Jesus, God sees us as His sons and daughters. In our prayers, therefore, we pray in the Holy Spirit; and we come to the Father through the name of Jesus -- praying through the Son. In Jesus’ Great Commission to us in Matthew 28:19, Jesus both instructs us regarding how His followers are to relate to our Trinidadian Deity of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit while, at the same time, making clear His place, as The Son, in the Trinity: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit . . .".
Today’s Affirmation: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Compulsions. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Patience. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
